Salsa Verde

makes 20 oz

Ingredients

  • 1 pound tomatillos, de-husked and halved
  • 1 small white onion, cut into wedges and separated
  • 2 jalapeños, halved
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • Juice from 1 lime
  • Handful of cilantro, roughly chopped
  • Salt to taste

Directions

  1. Put the tomatillos, onion, jalapeños, and garlic on a large baking sheet, cut side down
  2. Broil until the tomatillo have mostly charred. At this point, the onion and jalapeños should have also at least started to char
  3. Once cooled, throw everything into a blender with the remaining ingredients and blend until pretty smooth, or desired texture
